The Southern Maryland Association of Professional Pet Sitters (SMAPPS) was founded in 2007 with a vision to promote professional pet sitting in Southern Maryland.  We are a network of business owners dedicated to elevating the credibility of the pet sitting/dog walking industry by example and education. 

We encourage all pet owners to hire a professional, insured pet sitter.  You will have peace of mind knowing that your pets are being cared for by a responsible and accountable professional.  A professional pet sitter ensures that your pets are safe and happy in their own environment. 

All members of SMAPPS have liability insurance, adhere to the codes of conduct set by the two major pet sitting organizations, The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and Pet Sitters International, and attend at least one network meeting each quarter.
